STAAR Testing Coming Soon!

We are getting closer and closer to our state testing... We'll start reviewing various 8th grade topics over the next few weeks to jog memories, so it's really important for you to be in class every single day unless it is completely unavoidable! 8th gr Math STAAR: Tuesday, March 27 8th gr Reading STAAR: Wednesday, March 28 Also, I wanted to remind everyone what an incredibly valuable tool you have in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. All students should be fairly familiar with how to navigate this online source for grades. It's a great way to stay on top of homework assignments and missing work! Welcome to my class! This is going to be a great year, and already we're off to a great start! Please take a moment to "like" my Facebook page: "Mrs. Guess's Class" I update it almost daily with reminders about homework and upcoming class/campus events. Algebra students will be using online access to our textbook this year, in an effort to avoid damage and replacement costs on the actual books. Here's how to access the online book: Go to: my.hrw.com Login with the following information: username: wguess3 password: wguess3 Once you click on the "Online Textbook" link, the easiest way to navigate around is to click on the "Book Pages" tab near the top. Then you can quickly type in the exact page number you're looking for, and easily flip back through the chapter if you need some extra explanation. I'm really looking forward to working with this group of 8th graders (and a few select 7th graders)! I've heard great things about you guys, and I can't wait to get going!

Infinite Campus Portal

Did you know that you can view your student's grades 24 hours a day through Infinite Campus? It gives you a "live" view into my gradebook, so that you can see their updated Math/Algebra average anytime I post grades for a new assignment! Even if you haven't signed up for the "Parent Portal" by bringing up your ID and getting a password, you can use your student's log-in information to access the same information! All students were trained in the computer lab to sign in to this program and monitor their grades and attendance! There is a link on the right-hand side of the district website (www.weatherfordisd.com) to the "Campus Portal." User Name = the student's lunch number (ex: 123456) Password = the first and last initials of a student's name, then their six-digit birthdate (ex: JD080397) You can also log in to the Parent Portal to update your own contact information (address, phone number, email) quickly and easily. That way we always have the most up-to-date information to get in touch with you if we need to!
