Research interests in comparative communication techniques and secondary language learning online, as well as cultural influences and/or biases in cyberspace. Teaching experience spans more than four decades, beginning in the traditional classroom and extending into cyberspace, with a highlight having been the co-development and -teaching of the Annenberg/CPB Project's first online foray, "French in Action Online", followed by the conception and continuing development of the Coast Community College District's first completely-online courses--in French. Publications include papers and textbook chapters, as well as conference proceedings in the Usa and abroad. Outside/ancillary interests include zoosemiotics (MA thesis topic, concentrating on lemur catta), translation, and interpretation. Ongoing projects include the translation of political, social, and philosophical works of the Marquis de Sade.
