Professional Mission

To support online courses, faculty and students at NYU SCPS Distance Learning.
  1. Provide administrative support for online courses, students and faculty
  2. Manage the daily administrative operations of NYU SCPS Distance Learning office, which includes online course maintenance, custom enrollments and course content preparations
  3. Manage outreach to both new and returning online faculty
  4. Partner with interdepartmental administrators to coordinate and schedule online courses and faculty hires; develop planning strategies
  5. Manage both off-site and on-site technical support operations; Develop troubleshooting processes and facilitate quality control with an eye on customer service
  6. Develop and maintain administrative databases, and documentation for shared knowledge base
  7. Support and develop content for Distance Learning's web site  http://distancelearning.scps.nyu.edu/

Technical and Creative Media Interests

At ABC Inc., News One, I facilitated group live shot transmissions to affiliate news bureaus via satellite, including the BBC, Telemundo and World News Tonight with Peter Jennings.
As I managed tape editors' assignments and post production facilities, my interest in hands on digital media production, post-production and distribution grew.

At dScoop.com an online startup digital video resource for DV consumers, I reviewed and produced articles on digital cameras and DV filmmakers, wrote articles on digital consumerism and trends for digital video enthusiasts, and produced digital video content for the site.
There I gained practical technical experience with the digital media tools and realized that I needed to shape my long term interests in digital media, education and the web.
As digital media and the Internet grew exponentially I saw the limitless potential and sustainability in filmmakers, educators, or anyone with an interest in reaching a global audience, delivering their digital content online with revolutionary outcomes.

PERSONAL STATEMENT

I am an enthusiast about the democratization and globalization of digital media on the web as a tool for creative expression and education. My goal is to apply my diverse digital media background, theoretical sensibility from my advanced degree in Media Ecology, to remain on the pulse of global technological and cultural trends.
