What We Are Doing
 4th Six Weeks Learning Goals:
We have learned ALL the sound of the alphabet! Keep working on the sounds at home as well and please make sure you and your child are studying your HEART words(located in the zipper bag in the take-home folder)every night. If your child does not recognize all their alphabet sounds, please be studying them at home.
We are working on simple addition with sums up to ten and simple subtraction with numbers up to ten.  Students love to play around the world with both so practice at home so they will get better!

Students will also be bringing home a small weekly reader. It will be in their clear zip pouch in the back of their take-home folder. Please make sure that the reader is put back in the zipper pouch and the child’s backpack daily.

SNACKS
I will not be providing snacks for students who forget theirs. Please make sure your child has a snack daily. You may send a box of snacks for your child and I will keep them here with their name on it. Make sure the snack is healthy and not cookies, cupcakes, candy or chips.

Teaching Interests
I taught fourth grade English/Language Arts, Social Studies, Reading and Writing for two years. I am now moving on to a new adventure as a kindergarten teacher! Woohoo!
About Me
I love to talk! I get my energy from others and I have the most fun when everyone else around me is having a blast! I love to see others happy...it makes me happy!
I have been married since Oct 2008 and it is no different then the first 5 years we were together, it's better! We do not have children, but we adore our 5 dogs. I graduated from TCU with a degree in Education (ELA 4-8). I am also certified in Early Childhood through fourth grade and in ESL. I have two sisters who are awesome(most of the time:)) and one amazing mom! My sister Katelyn volunteers a lot at Ikard and helps with tutoring my students.  She is a psychology major at UNT.

I adore salads. No joke! My best friend's mom and dad got me the best wedding gift-a salad spinner- that I literally use on a daily basis.
My favorite scent is Escada Magnetism. I love harvest spice airwicks. I am a fan of cleaning, but not of laundry. I am always, always, always cold! I carry at least one sweater in my car at all times; even in 100 degree weather. I am obsessed with shoes! My husband does not understand my need for them and I am sure he never will...

I am right where I want to be. I have wanted to teach since I was in Kindergarten and my teacher Kim Jones was the reason I was dead strong on becoming a teacher!  I try staying in the day; taking one day at a time.
