2nd Six Weeks
Our 2nd six weeks is off to a great start! Third graders are working hard to learn new things. I have started sending a homework packet home on Monday that is due on Friday. They may turn it in as soon as they are finished. Third graders are still required to read 20 minutes every night and get their reading logs signed. They also need to study spelling words for our weekly spelling tests on Fridays. If you want to work extra with your child, asking comprehension questions after reading and practicing subtracting with regrouping are great things to work on! Next week is Red Ribbon Week. We dress up daily to promote saying no to drugs. Monday: Shade Out Drugs (wear sunglasses) Tuesday: Put a cap on drugs (wear a cap) Wednesday: Strike out drugs (wear baseball attire) Thursday: Sock it to drugs (wear crazy socks) Friday: Fight against drugs (wear camo) Also, don't forget we have a field trip to Texas Ranger's Stadium on November 18th!

4th Six Weeks
First of all, thank you for having your child to school on time daily. The tardy bell rings at 8:00 and instruction starts immediately. Third graders took the Math and Reading Released TAKS tests a few weeks ago and did such a great job! Our goal is to have 90% passing to maintain our Exemplary status. We will be working daily to achieve this goal. This six weeks we will be studying measurement, main idea, comprehension, and the solar system.
