My Bio

Sarah Wills-Dubose is a visionary and self-starter with achievements in management and quality improvement in the health care industry. She has expertise as an Educator, Facilitator and Trainer in Health Information and Records Management. She has proven to be successful in quality improvement activities in acute care and managed care and has assisted with the development of standards for electronic Health Information Management (eHIM).

In addition to being a part-time faculty member at the University of Toledo in the Health Information Management and Healthcare Administration programs, Sarah is the Director of Health Information Services at Summit Behavioral Healthcare in Cincinnati, Ohio. She currently holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration from the University of Cincinnati, a Bachelor of Arts in Health Information Management from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth Minnesota, a Master of Education in Human Resource Development from Xavier University, and a Master of Arts in Health Information Management from the College of St. Scholastica.

Before becoming Summit Behavioral Healthcare, Sarah worked for two years in Columbus, Ohio, as a Health Information Management Education Coordinator for the Mount Carmel Health Care System. This health care system consisted of three hospitals that provided acute, ambulatory, and holistic/wellness care to a diverse clientele. Other professional experiences that have shaped her perceptive include: a Total Quality Management Specialist in Safety and Health for Fluor Fernald in Cincinnati, an Adjunct Faculty for the Union Institute in Cincinnati and Faculty in the Health Information Administration Program at Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN.
Professional affiliations that Sarah devotes time and knowledge to include: the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), the Ohio Health Information Management Association (OHIMA), and the Ohio Healthcare Information & Management Systems Society (HIMSS). She believes these associations represent ideals and standards that are important to take part in and to aspire to.

Sarah brings her training and experience, in a variety of different areas, together for you here at the University of Toledo. She is excited about being a part of the UT experience and looks forward to working with the faculty and students.
