Welcome Back Fourth Graders.
Welcome back! I hope that everyone had a wonderful summer and is ready for a FANTASTIC year! I taught 6th grade last year but was able to move back down to my beloved 4th graders! I am very excited to be back teaching Math and hopefully my passion for the subject will filter into your children as well! Our first six weeks we will be going over Place Value and Addition and Subtraction of Whole Numbers and Decimals. Please just practice with your child each night on these concepts. We will be making Place Value foldables and the students can take these home to practice with. In addition, there will be Math homework going home each Monday and will be due back to me on Friday. They can, however, turn their packets in early. A homework policy letter was sent home with each 4th grader. If you did not receive one please contact a parent. I will be uploading some great Math websites for your child to practice on at home as well. Again, welcome back and I hope we all have a WONDERFUL year!

2nd and 3rd Six Weeks
We are ending our second six weeks of school and beginning the third! WOW! The year is flying by. Please make sure that your child is turning in their homework each Friday. They will write in their agendas if there is no homework for the week. Also, PLEASE work with your child on multiplication and division facts. Even if we are not covering those objectives in class they are always a good thing to practice. I send home a review before every Unit Test. Please look for those and make sure your child studies them. Our Unit 04 Test will be on Wednesday the 16th. It will cover division. If you ever have any questions please do not hesitate to call or email me. I hope that you all have a nice Thanksgiving break and are well rested when school resumes on the 28th.

5th Six Weeks
We are in the beginning the 5th six weeks and only have two days left until Spring Break! This year is flying by. We are also entering the "testing season." At the end of March fourth grade will be taking the STAAR Writing test and at the end of April the Math and Reading. So it may seem like the year is coming to a close, however, we still have quite a bit of work to do! Geometry will take up most of our 5th six weeks and then we will begin to review for the STAAR. Please make sure you are checking your child's mulitplication log (they will begin again the week after Spring Break). Also, no homework the week before Spring Break. Study Island and Fact Monster are great websites for your child to work on at home. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
