English IV prepares students for transition to life after high school
whether they choose to enter the workforce, the military, or an institution
of higher education. Students will be required to complete assigned
readings, as well as written assignments of the types generally required
in freshman college composition courses, including an extensive research paper.
Use of technology will be necessary in the preparation and presentation
of course work. The five basic genres of literature (short story, drama, poetry,
non-fiction and novel) are explored to gain more understanding and to
complement essay requirements.
