About Me:

Professional
I am currently teaching music in a Reggio-influenced school near Indianapolis called the Harrison Hill School of Inquiry. I am interested primarily in using Orff techniques and world drumming to reach our children. We also focus on songs that develop community and character building. Despite teaching music, I do not perform.
I am currently working on adding a technology endorsement to my license, and I have spoken as a concurrent presenter at the annual ICE conferences a couple of times now.
Other Interests
I am active in helping out and teaching with the South Boone Church of Christ, and I have taught adult and young adult classes there. I serve on our education committee.
More personally, I enjoy collecting music, video games, and reading material. Some favorite authors include John Irving, Arthur C. Clarke, Harlan Ellison, Terry Brooks, and Frank Herbert. Favorite music groups and musicians include the Beatles (as well as most of their solo careers), Dave Matthews Band, Eric Clapton, They Might Be Giants, and Simon & Garfunkel.
My home computers have all been Macs, but I feel reasonably comfortable in any visual operating environment. User interfaces and presentation design are of particular interest to me in technology, and I often write about such issues on my blog.

I'm currently engaged in early childhood music as well as the influence of formal education on creativity.
