This portal is organized through the Education Service Center, Region 2 (ESC-2), and therefore has no "hidden" commercial agenda. My only purpose is to provide information and resources to improve your ability to successfully apply for appropriate grant funding to support student success in Texas. The content of this portal will depend to a large degree on participants' needs and feedback.
I am the grants and development specialist at the ESC-2 in Corpus Christi, TX. I have held that position since 1998, and have been involved in obtaining numerous competitive state, federal, and other grants for the benefit of Region 2 school districts and the ESC-2. I also have responsibilities relating to our Quality Management System (ISO 9001-2000), publications and other media production, strategic planning, and customer satisfaction data collection.[Prior to the ESC-2, I worked for the Texas A&M Agricultural Extension Service (now AgriLife Extension) as an entomologist, based in Corpus Christi. My academic background is biology (B.S. Biology from Colorado State University; M.S. Entomology from Texas Tech University).]
