My first teaching experience was as a part-time instructor at the University of Houston in the College of Technology. I taught several business classes including one online class. After leaving the oil industry, I taught for six years at Nimitz High School in the Business Department, before coming to Cypress Fairbanks in 1989. I taught Keyboarding, Career Exploration, and Computer Literacy at Watkins Middle School for one year. I transferred to help open Truitt Middle School teaching Keyboarding and Computer Literacy and serving as the technology liaison and department chair for Electives. In 1997, Truitt piloted the technology coach role and I served in that position until 2003 when I assumed my current role in Instructional Technology where I assist and train teachers to integrate technology into their lessons to engage students to become 21st century citizens.
I am a native Houstonian and graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Business Education and earned a Master of Education in Educational Technology Leadership from Lamar University. I have completed my online instructor certification through Harris County Department of Education. I have been married for 32 years and we have one daughter, Tiffany, who is an educator at Sci-Quest Hands-on Science Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
