Nilgun’s educational background includes an AAS in Health Information Management (HIM) from Owens CC, a BS in Healthcare Management from Franklin University, and a Master of Public Health in Public Health Administration from University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University (Northwest Ohio Consortium for Public Health). Her professional background: Over the years, she worked in multiple positions dealing with healthcare in various types of healthcare facilities; she has gained great knowledge and experience. These experiences have given her great insights into the healthcare business world, which she is able to share in the classroom. Nilgun worked as a Health Information Technology adjunct faculty member at Owens Community College from 2004-2008 and at Mercy College of Northwest Ohio from 2008-2009. In addition to being a part-time faculty member at the University of Toledo, Nilgun is working as a coding compliance auditor at the Promedica Health System Corporate Audit & Compliance Services Department Her credentials include Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS-P) through AHIMA. She is active member of AHIMA, Ohio Health Information Management Association (OHIMA), Northwest Ohio Health Information Association (NWOHIMA), and American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
