We are well into the second semester now and in World Geography we are starting to study some important issues facing the rest of the world. We are currently discussing Invisible Children that deals with children in Africa who are being forced to become soldiers. Please feel free to discuss these issues with your children and encourage them to find out more. I am offering extra credit for students who post information about this issue on my blog.

Welcome to World Geography
|
I would like to welcome you to my web page and the start of the 2011-2012 school year. I am excited for another fun year in World Geography. This course is so important for students in order for them to be exposed to other cultures, understand the world around them, and enable them to be successful in the global community. Today in the U.S., in Texas particularly, we are surrounded and influenced by many cultures. World Geography plays an important role in creating a well rounded individual, who has both a deeper understanding of the world as a whole, as well as building basic skills such as identifying and reading different types of maps, identifying landforms, and understanding the natural processes which has created the earth we see today. I hope that students will enjoy this course and understand why it is important. If you have any questions please feel free to email me or contact me by phone at the Ninth Grade Center. Nichole Gray
