I am a Functional Life Skills teacher for Grades 3-6th at Curtis Elementary. I am certified in Interdisciplinary Studies Generalist EC-4 and All- Level Special Education and ESL certified. I am also CPI trained.

Theme
|
This six weeks we will be working hard to learn about the theme "All About Me". I plan to cover body parts, emotions, the five senses, family, pets, and interests of each child during this time. This is a really fun theme for the kids to explore but in order to get the most out of it I will need your help! ***Please send pictures of family members labeled on the back, magazine clippings of your child's favorite things/ activities, and send the questionaire back to school. All of this is needed by Wednesday, August 31st! ***

APPLES

Our theme of the week is "Apples." Please send 1 apple of your childs selection to school by Wednesday, September 28. Special Olympics is scheduled for October 7th. Mark your calendars!! NO SCHOOL October 10th but please be thinking about a good time to come in and meet with me for a parent teacher conference on that day! I look forward to seeing parents and making sure everyone is on the same track. Our partnership is so helpful and makes my job easier when we all work together!!!!

Fire Safety
|
This week (October 11-24 we will be learning all about FIRE SAFETY! We will take a look at what you shouldn't play with, how to STOP, DROP and ROLL if you are on fire, and calling 911. On Friday we will have a Fire Safety Clown performance!!! *** Remember to send $7.50 for the Mainstay Farm Field Trip by October 28th. Also we need the Mainstay Farm liability agreement sent back as soon as possible! This is going to be a GREAT field trip!*** Chili Cook Off- November 17th. FLS will donate items to their grade level basket this year! I will send home each students grade level theme if you would like to donate to the basket!
