Our Study of Weather/Feb. 1, 2013
During the last two weeks we have been studying weather, how to measure it and how to read it on a weather map. Here is a picture of my sister, Glenda Russell, launching a weather balloon that gathers data up in the atmosphere and also a picture of my brother, Alex Hoon, who works at National Weather Service in Nevada. We compared cities' temperature, precipitation, wind direction, and wind speed using the internet, measured precipitation with a rain gauge in our school garden, made an anemometer to measure wind speed, and reported the weather using laptops and edheads.org.
