Parents, Reminders for this week: - Friday, April 13th - Last day of 5th six weeks.
- Next Weeks Theme will be Butterflies
- We are officially done with Word Wall Words. Next week starts spelling.
- Wednesday, April 18th Kinder graduation pictures will be taken.
- Friday, April 20th - report cards go home.
The focus/goal this six weeks is to continue letter sounds and blending sounds to make words. These beginning objectives are fundamental to the developing reader. Please work with you student at home as much as possible on all three of these objectives. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.  This weeks theme is Insects. We will be incorporating the weeks theme into our activities/lessons, and reading several theme specific books/stories. Our Word Wall Words this week are "they" & "with" We will be focusing on our Word Wall Words heavily throughout the year so please work with your child each night to recognize and read the words on their Word Wall Rings.
It is also very helpful to read to your child as often as possible and to let them read to you if they are able. By this time in our kindergarten year, most students should be able to sound out words, so encourage them to do so. This will be very helpful for their transition into 1st grade! Please allow your child to practice writing their name (first and last name - with the first letter of each being upper case and the others lower case) at home as often as possible.
