My Bio
|
Kjell Rudestam, PhD, is Associate Dean of Academic Affairs in the School of Psychology at Fielding Graduate University, where he has served on the faculty and administration for 24 years. Prior to that he was Professor of Psychology at York University, Toronto, Ontario, and Associate Professor of Psychology at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. Kjell is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (Division 12), a Diplomate of the American Board of Examiners in Professional Psychology (Clinical), a Diplomate of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, and a founding member of the Registry for Certified Group Psychotherapists (CGP). He received his Ph.D. in Psychology (Clinical) from the University of Oregon. He also holds an honorary Doctorate of Science from The Professional School of Psychology, San Francisco.
Kjell’s primary administrative responsibilities are to oversee the academic curriculum and the national sessions within the School of Psychology. This includes managing curriculum design, teaching assignments, seminar scheduling, assessment procedures, adjunct faculty, and session logistics. Kjell has also provided leadership on university-wide committees. Within the research domain his most recent publications are: Surviving Your Dissertation: A Comprehensive Guide to Content and Process, 3rd edition (2007), The Handbook of Online Learning: Innovations in Higher Education and Corporate Training, 2nd edition (in press), and Experiential Groups in Theory and Process (Russian translation, 2006). In his faculty role at Fielding, Kjell teaches research skills and clinical interventions and serves on dissertation committees. He also maintains a clinical and consulting practice, focusing on individuals, couples, and organizations.
