A New Year to Keep Moving Forward
|
Welcome to a new school year. My role as counselor is to help all students to "Keep Moving Forward" academically, socially, and emotionally. As counselor I provide guidance content, address immediate concerns of students through counseling, assist students in monitoring and understanding their own development, and finally deliver system support. Areas addressed through Guidance curriculum K-6: Self-Confidence development; Motivation to Achieve; Decision-Making; Goal-Setting; Problem-Solving Skills; Social Skills; Communication Skills; Cross-Cultural Effectiveness; Responsible Behavior; Career Knowledge. Individual and Group Counseling: I am available to help students use self-control, problem solve, practice responsibility, cope with difficult life events, share feelings and concerns, deal with negative feelings, and build self-esteem. Parents, guardians, and teachers can refer a child for help with dealing with a problem.
