5th grade is off to a great start! We are enjoying getting to know each of your children and their strengths. As 5th Grade teachers we know communication is key to every child’s success. Please feel free to contact us at any time regarding your child’s progress at school. Graded papers will be sent home every Thursday along with your child’s behavior folder. Please be sure to sign the folder every Thursday night. Also, if your child comes home with a failing grade under a 70 please have him/her correct, or re-do the paper, and turn it back it to the proper teacher. Starting the first week in September every student is expected to read four nights a week for 3o minutes. As a family you may pick which four nights work best for your child. Students will also be required to do four assigned book reports this year. This is to ensure that all children are reading outside of class. Spelling tests will only be given 3 times a six weeks.
