New Learning in Progress

October, 2011. The students in 5th grade are taking photos with their digital cameras of an old homestead adjacent to the school. From these photos they will be making a movie with Microsoft Movie Maker. This involves designing, adding script and putting imagination to work. Students in 6th grade are making a power point presentation on one of the following: I am an American, I am a Texan or I am a Weatherforite. They will be designing their Powerpoint, researching to compare/contrast their subject with other cities, states or countries.

Welcome to Austin's Computer Lab for 2011-2012. We are going to be learning and experimenting with new programs and software this year. Our school has mini computers and everyone (that includes Kindergators as well) will be having the opportunity to use these computers, Before they can use these in the classroom, they have to learn what these Mini's can do. This is one thing they will be doing in the Computer Lab. We want our students to be technology savy whenever they go out into the world, and this is a great place to start.
