Welcome to Liz Ngonzi's Courses Page
Hello and thanks for visiting!

I'm Liz Ngonzi, and I teach the following NYU Heyman Center for Philanthropy & Fundraising courses:

Very passionate about education, over the last eight years, I have taught and/or developed numerous college-level fundraising, events and hospitality management courses.  Additionally, I am a recognized authority on ePhilanthropy, fundraising, women in business, events management and social entrepreneurship.  I've spoken at several academic and industry conferences in the US and Africa, and my team will debut the Africa, Tech & Women: The New Faces of Development panel during the March 2012 SXSW technology conference in Austin, TX.

I am a 2011-2012 Entrepreneur in Residence at my alma mater, Cornell University School of Hotel Administration; a Co-Vice Chair of the Communications Committee of the President’s Council of Cornell Women; an Advisory Board member to the Cornell University Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship; and serve on the United Nations International School’s Council for Alumni Affairs.

In my other life, I run Amazing Taste, LLC.,a values-led boutique consulting firm that connects nonprofits organizations with philanthropists and corporations, to achieve strategic objectives through fundraising events and cause marketing campaigns, along with educational activities.   I founded the firm, drawing on my professional career in Corporate America, my global upbringing and my personal commitment to making a social impact. Some of the work we do facilitates service delivery, fundraising and brand awareness through mobile channels and online social media.

We work with domestic and international educational institutions, gender rights organizations, healthcare foundations, political campaigns and youth development organizations. Some of the organizations with which we have worked, include: Action Against Hunger, Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, Communities In Schools of New Jersey, The National Eating Disorders Association, the North Jersey Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the Office of the Special Advisor to the United Nations Secretary-General on Gender Issues, and the United Nations Development Programme.

I obtained my Master of Management in Hospitality degree (with a concentration in Services Marketing) from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems degree (with a concentration in Telecommunications Systems) from Syracuse University.  Additionally, I graduated from the United Nations International School, which I attended from kindergarten through 12th grade.
