Welcome!
|
Thank you for visiting my Eportfolio. Originally from Washington State, I am currently in my final year of doctoral study in the Rhetoric & Writing Program at Bowling Green State University. I will graduate in August 2010 with a Ph.D. in English and a graduate certificate in women's studies. My dissertation examines the extent to which composing practices common to websites such as YouTube reinvigorate the public sphere through what Gerard Hauser (1999) terms "vernacular rhetorics." My research interests explore the intersections between writing, literacy (both print and new media), and democracy, and I am also interested in issues related to women's literacies and rhetorical practices. These research interests also profoundly impact my pedagogy, and I am deeply committed to cultivating best practices for teaching composition, both in traditional classroom environments and those that are computer-mediated. I hope you'll take some time to review the items I've included in this portfolio, to gain a fuller picture of my professional interests and strengths. Thank you!
