Integrating Scientific Knowledge with Industrial Experience
The desire to go back to teaching came from my parents, a dad who was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Southern California and later became the Chair of the Chemistry Department and a mom who was an Elementary School Principal for four decades. Students from around the world would send them cards, sharing their successes with them as they recounted how they were motivated to become successful scientists and engineers.
Then came a few decades of semiconductor industry experience working in Silicon Valley with facilities in Taiwan manufacturing flat panel liquid crystal displays and smart modules.
As an Adjunct Professor of Chemistry in higher education, I hope to give all my students the same opportunity for learning and sharing through the central sciences of chemistry and biology. This Education Portfolio explains how I plan to carry out a classroom management plan using engineering as a tool and how I can integrate student success in learning outcomes with performance assessments using alternative strategies and personal response systems to prepare them for future careers and become responsible citizens of society.

As Chemistry is "the central science" and Biology is the study of life, then General Chemistry I and II, Chemistry for the Allied Health Sciences, Organic Chemistry I and II, Physics of Semiconductors, Physical Polymer Chemistry. However, I am also quite interested in nanotechnology and quantum dots with respect to epigenetics to sustain long life.
