Our class is working hard to improve on all of their math facts. We do timed fact tests every day and our goal is simply to improve! We have moved on to multiplication. I have several fun sites that your child can go to for practice. Just click on the "quick links" on the right side of this page and you will find many websites that will help your child learn and have fun. Enjoy! ***We have begun writing our Spelling Tests in cursive handwriting. Please encourage your students at home to practice in their best cursive handwriting when taking the test.
Encourage your child to make goals at home for areas of improvement. We have our own class data binders that we graph in daily. We graph our attendance, completion of assignments, weekly spelling tests, and mad minute facts. We also set a personal goal every 6 weeks that we would like to achieve.
Also, remember to send your child a healthy snack each day for snack time. A water bottle with water is also welcome. No chips, cookies or candy are allowed in the class room as a snack but they can be eaten during lunch time :)

20 Minute Reading
Students should read a chapter book that is on their level. They should be reading their library book. I check each chapter book before they check it out. Our goal is for your child to read their books from begining to end. If time permits ask your child to retell what they have read to you in their own words from begining to middle to end. This will encourage your child to read for understanding, instead of reading until the timer goes off.
Reader's Response
There will always be directions in your child's home folder. Please find the date for the assignment and follow the directions. Inside the front cover of their Memory Book is a rubric. Please refer back to that with your child to make sure the response is done correctly.
