About Me
I am a professor of Global English, and I am excited about my work with international students and universities. On a daily basis, I enjoy running and writing--which often becomes a paragraph here and there of scribbling ideas down in notes, given my busy schedule. But I think that my greatest joy is being a father, since I get the chance to re-learn valuable things about life that I've allowed to pass by me. My son and two daughters keep me busy, learning.

Biography
After completing his PhD in English at the University of Kansas, Dan Kulmala accepted a position at Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS. His professional interests have gravitated away from the study of drama and literature to essay writing, assessment of student learner outcomes, performance-based learning and innovative curriculum development. With a concentrated interest in theories of the post-modern university and the uses of e-portfolios in education, he develops new programs of study and re-designs existing courses at FHSU. Recently, he created a new degree program: Global English. This program involves the study of English for professional purposes as a global language. Currently, he holds a position as Professor of Global English and as a Teagle Foundation Teaching and Learning Scholar.
