Bugs Rule!
The Bugs are as Busy as Little Bees!
 
 Spelling:  We are adding suffixes to base words!  This week, we are focusing on -ed and -ing.  Please assist your child in locating words with these endings as they read.  Talk about how adding those suffixes change the meaning of the base word.
    
Math:  We are continuing mastery of adding and subtracting 2-digit numbers that sometimes require trading.  Parents can help by asking their child whether addition or subtraction should be used to solve life's problems.  For example, "It's 13 miles to grandma's house.  Grandma's house is 15 miles to the store.  How could we find out how far we need to travel?". 
 
Writing: We are writing expository texts!  Very exciting!
 
 
Science - We are still focused on the weather, but now we are getting very detailed.  We are studying the water cycle.  Please watch weather reorts with your child and discuss what the METEOROLOGIST is reporting!.
 
Water, Water Everywhere! 
Please send a clean water bottle to school each day for your bug.  They are encouraged to drink A LOT of water.  Bus students really get thirsty on the bus, so water bottles are really appreciated.
