Who am I?
I am a lover of technology, and I keep constantly busy on exciting projects to further my own knowledge; some are paid, some are not.
 
What do I do?
I am employed at Indiana University as a Podcast Specialist for University Information Technology Services (UITS) in the Enterprise Software division. I also do freelance development and consulting, am very active in student government, and participate in a wide range of projects, organizations, and focus groups.

Major projects I have had an active role developing include:

IU Podcast Portal
  • iTunes U Launch
  • iTunes U and Oncourse CL integration
  • iTunes U Public Launch

Current active projects include:
  • OpenCast - community open source, end-to-end classroom capture system
  • Mobile development - enabling mobile support for podcasting services
 
Current responsibilities include: 
  • Primary end user support and Tier 2 support for podcasting services at IU
  • Account creation and maintenance via ADS (Active Directory Services) 
  • Technical documentation creation, maintenance, and organization
  • End user documentation creation, maintenance, and organization
  • Developer and designer
I have also just started as a web application developer for Media Design and Production at UITS with projects ranging from websites to database-backed information warehousing and organization.

Community Involvement:
I'm currently the President of Informatics Student Government (ISG) -- previously Vice President. As such, I am responsible for collecting the input from students, faculty, and staff, translating that into positive action, and acting as a representative to the School of Informatics on behalf of the student body.

I am active with the campus-level Undergraduate Student Government (USG) and served last year as both a Senator and for a short time as the Chair of the Events Planning Committee.

I often participate in discussions, organizations, and projects to further my education and experience, as well as offer my knowledge and experience to others. One such project is currently under development, and as such details are not to be disclosed at this time; however, it is a student-focused group for our IT organization.
