AP English Literature

This course is designed to prepare the student for college as the level of difficulty with the work reflects a college class. If the student chooses to take the Advanced Placement exam in May, he/she can do so with confidence. If the student decides not to take the exam, that student benefits from the rigor of the class in preparation for future college classes in general and English classes in particular. The class asks students to become nonpareil readers of literature and consummate writers, capable of writing effectively in a variety of formats or situations. Through close reading and critical analysis, the student will develop acuity of thinking that will prove beneficial long after the grade in this class has been recorded.
