Welcome to Introduction to Online Course Preparation. The following has been designed as an asynchronous tutorial to guide you through the development of your syllabus and course. Before you go any further we ask you to consider the following:
It IS NOT the goal of this tutorial to ignore the expertise faculty brings to syllabus and course development.
It IS NOT the goal of this tutorial to replace the academic standards that all programs require to ensure quality syllabi and courses.
It IS the goal of this tutorial to introduce instructors new to online teaching to our expectations before you develop your online syllabi and courses.
It IS the goal of this tutorial to offer instructors assistance with the design and implementation of their syllabus and course materials inside of the NYU SCPS Online environment.
By the end of this tutorial you should have a strong foundational knowledge to assist you with the development of a syllabus and course that meets the standards established BY SCPS Distance Learning.
Shall we get started? To begin simply select "Lessons" from the toolbar on the left. Once you are inside the Lessons section select the "Introduction to Online Course Preparation" link and follow the directions from there.
