Welcome to Quest
|
Welcome back to Quest. We hope everyone had a wonderful summer. It should be an exciting year. Our units of study will tie the four core curriculum areas (language arts, math, social studies, and science) together as much as possible.
Quest classes will begin the week of September 5th. 3rd and 4th grade students will be actively involved in solving Math Around Town problems. They will also learn skills to help them conquer life's challenges (Learning to be a Durable Person). This year, 5th/6th grade students will be studying the 20's & 30's and the Stock Market. With current events happening today, our introduction to these subjects will be very timely. Our Quest program serves identified Gifted and Talented students in grades kindergarten through sixth. Grades 3rd through 6th are pulled out of the regular classroom for a full day each week and 1st and 2nd graders are challenged in their regular classroom by their Gifted and Talented certified teachers. Quest testing occurs once each year in the Spring. Kindergarten testing takes place in January. Nominations can be submitted through the WISD website or through the school office.
