NEWS FOR THE WEEK OF MAY 7, 2012 4th WEEK OF THE 6th SIX WEEKS
Our class will be taking their end of year assessments in Math and Reading this week. I encourage you to keep reading with your child at least four nights a week. After your child reads a story to you, have him/her retell it in sequence without looking at the pictures for help. They need to remember as many details as possible. SPECIAL THINGS TO REMEMBER: A take home folder is being sent home each day so please look for it. The conduct sheet inside needs to be initialed each day. Any special notes from me or the office will also be in the folder. ***On Fridays, we will be having a spelling quiz. All library books are due on Thursdays. Our class goes to P.E. on Monday, Wednesday and every other Friday so the students need to wear tennis shoes on those days. HOMEWORK WILL CONSIST OF: *Reading each night and recording it in the reading log. *Practicing math facts. *Practicing the words with the spelling word families for the week. *Practicing being able to read the word wall words. Thank you to all the parents who have sent supplies and snacks!

Please label all jackets, coats and lunch boxes with your child's name. If you would like to be a parent volunteer on May 25th for our end of the year school wide celebration, please let me know and I will turn your name in to the committee that is organizing the event.
