Welcome to 5th Grade Science and Social Studies!!!  My name is Angie Williams and teaching science is my passion!  There is no better feeling in the world than having a student learn "Why" something happens in life/science!  This is my 17th year to teach in Weatherford ISD.  The last 15 years have been spent teaching 5th grade science and social studies.  I taught 3rd grade for two years.
I am a Weatherford, native-born person and was raised raised right here in Parker County.  My family and I live north of town in Poolville.  I am married to Jason Williams.  He is a firefighter and an EMT for Haltom City Fire Department and he volunteers at Central Volunteer Fire Department.  We have two children Katelyn and Braden Williams.
4th 6 Weeks Content to Cover
In Science we are studying about weather.  Students need to know about high and low pressure, cold fronts, warm fronts, water cycle, humidity, storms, wind, seasons, read a barometer and be able to read a weather map.  We will also learn about ecosystems and their different populations of animals.  We will learn about producers and the different types of consumers.  In Social Studies we learn about the Articles of Confederation, The Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.
First 6 Weeks Units of study
In science we are discussing safety in science.  We will learn how to use various science tools and safety equipment.  Then we will cover the properties of matter.  Have your child bring home their science binder so that they can study and keep up on vocabulary.
In social studies we will focus on landforms first and then cover why and how Euorpeans came to America.
