About Me
|
Aspiring to work in Public Relations, I am attending Cal State Fullerton to get my Bachelor's degree and then pursue a Master's degree. To continue in being well rounded and know more about the world I live in now, I am also working towards a minor in Business Administration. Writing, in addition to being a full-time communications student, has opened my eyes to the ever-changing world around me and made me love new experiences, people, and places. I want to establish, manage and maintain relationships with those around me in both the business world and my personal life. I love applying myself to daily projects and tasks, and I am a hard worker that strives for nothing but the best in everything I do. When Mark Twain wrote, “Sing like no one’s listening, love like you’ve never been hurt, dance like nobody’s watching, and live like its heaven on earth,” he had a perception of life worth envying. Passionate for life and learning, I love experiencing the world one step at a time. My next few steps include a transition into the professional public relations industry where, as a public relations intern, I am seeking to align myself with a company where I can grow and learn in a creative, fast-paced environment. I have a strong desire to excel in this profession, and will do everything I can to apply myself and become the best at what I do. I am a strong writer and copy editor and have experience writing many types of public relations tools to engage and inform publics. As a public relations intern, with a desire to excel in this profession, I am seeking to obtain a public relations internship, where I can grow and learn in a creative, fast-paced organization.

Career Interests

After graduation I would like to work as an accomplished PR professional who can execute all aspects of public outreach campaigns. Ideally, I want to become a part of an agency where I can use my skills to increase media exposure and produce effective print, advertising and promotional materials as well as support strategic marketing initiatives.
I believe creating, maintaining and managing relationships with key publics is key to facilitating effective public relations. I want to use my skills to bring this to fruition for the company I will work for.

Academic Interests

My academic interests include furthering my skills as a public relations practitioner by taking classes that help me grow and expand my knowledge of how to establish effective relationships with key publics.
For instance, the Crisis Management class I took for Spring 2011 facilitated the application of my knowledge into a 170 page crisis-management plan for the beer company Molson Coors.

Research Interests

Writing press releases, copy editing, researching vulnerabilities to a company, researching key publics, determining measurement tools and strategies to assess the effectiveness of public relations tools, etc.
