Lowe’s Toolbox for Education Grant
The program offers small grants up to $5,000 to help support school improvement projects at public schools nationwide. Competition is open each year for two cycles during the Fall and Spring. Lowe’s accepts 1,500 applications for each judging cycle. The Fall Cycle is now open and applications will be accepted until October 12, 2012.

Target Field Trip Grants Program
Target’s Field Trip Grants Program funds school field trips that connects teacher’s curriculum to out-of school experiences. Target awards 5,000 grants of $700 each grant cycle. Education professionals who are at least 18 years old and employed by an accredited K-12 public, private or charter school in the United States that maintains a 501(c)(3) or 509(a)(1) tax-exempt status are eligible to apply. Educators, teachers, principals, paraprofessionals or classified staff of these institutions must be willing to plan and execute a field trip that will provide a demonstrable learning experience for students. H-E-B Excellence in Education Early Childhood Award
The H-E-B Excellence in Education Early Childhood Award is designed to support public or private schools or not-for-profit learning agencies that focus on the care and education of children of under the age of five. The purpose of the award is to offer support to help create or enhance Kinder Readiness programs that prepare children to enter Kindergarten socially and academically ready to learn.

HEB 2012 Healthy Campus Grants
The H-E-B Excellence in Education Healthy Campus grant is designed to assist school campuses with resources and funding to increase health and nutrition education for their students. Grant monies are awarded to develop, implement and improve activities and programs centered around the three pillars of H-E-B’s statewide health improvement effort; Food, Body and Life. Grants should include at least one component from each of three areas.

Build-A-Bear Workshop Bear Hugs Foundation Literacy and Education Grants
The Build-A-Bear Workshop Bear Hugs Foundation Literacy and Education grants are given to provide direct support for children in literacy and education programs such as summer reading programs, early childhood education programs, and literacy programs for children with special needs. Air Force Association Educator Grant 2012
The Air Force Association believes that one of the most effective ways to affect student learning is to fund grants to meet the unmet and unfunded educational needs of students. Each school year, the Association awards grants of up to $250 to worthy projects that significantly influence student learning.
The Educator Grant program promotes aerospace education activities in classrooms from kindergarten through twelfth graders. The program encourages development of innovative aerospace activities within the prescribed curriculum.

Gale/Library Media Connection TEAMS Award
The Gale/Library Media Connection TEAMS award recognizes and encourages the critical collaboration between teacher and media specialist to promote learning, increase student achievement and develop 21st century skills.
Three winners will receive: $2,500 cash award; Gale products; a one year subscription to Library Media Connection; and a choice of professional publications from Linworth Books.

The Humane Society Humane Education Mini-Grant
The Humane Society Humane Education Mini-Grant was created to provide funds for classroom teachers who lead innovative, standards-based programs and curricula in humane education, specifically the teaching of kindness and respect for animals and their natural habitats. Mini-grant amounts will not exceed $1,000. The deadline for applications is on November 30, 2012. The Red Robin Foundation U-ACT Program
The Red Robin Foundation U-ACT (Unbridles Acts or random acts of kindness) is a character-building initiative specifically for grades K-8, which aims to inspire and encourage students to be kind to others. Through monthly monetary grants, the Red Robin U-ACT Program honors schools that exemplify kindness to others and show support in their community through Unbridled Acts. Classrooms or schools must be K-8 to qualify. The current cycle is now open and will be accepting applications until March 31, 2013. CVS Community Grants
CVS offers grant opportunities to nonprofit organizations up to $5,000. The focus of these grants is on: programs that support children disabilities, grants to support health care for the uninsured and underserved, and grants to support public schools. All applicants must be located in a region where CVS is present. Applications are accepted between January 1 and October 31 . The Donald Samull Classroom Herb Garden Grant
The Herb Society of America, as recipient of a bequest from the estate of Donald Samull, has established two herb garden grants for teachers in grades 3 through 6. Mr. Samull was an elementary school teacher who used his love of his herbs in the classroom with his 3rd-6th grade students. These grants will ensure that his tradition of using herbs with students will continue for years to come.
Public and/or private 3rd through 6th grade teachers, with classes of a minimum of 15 students may apply for an indoor or an outdoor herb garden grant. The Herb Society of America will award five schools each year window sill herb gardens. Winning classrooms will receive three windowsill herb garden kits. The Herb Society of America will provide the educational materials.
The Herb Society of America will select four schools/classrooms to receive $200 "Seed Money" to establish an outdoor herb garden. The funds may be used for supplies such as soil, plant trays, containers, child or youth tools, etc. The school may need to seek additional funding and support from other sources. The Herb Society of America will provide the educational materials and herb seeds.

ING Unsung Heroes
Every year grants are given to K-12 educators utilizing new teaching methods and techniques that improve learning. Each year, educators submit applications for an ING Unsung Heroes grant by describing projects they have initiated or would like to pursue. Each project is judged on its:
· Innovative method
· Ability to positive influence the students
Each year, 100 finalists are selected to receive a $2,000 grant, payable to both the winning teacher and his or her school. At least one grant is awarded in each of the 50 states, provided at least one qualified application was received from each state. Winners are selected by Scholarship America, a national non-profit educational support and student aid service organization.
Of the 100 finalists, three are selected for additional financial awards: $25,000 for first place; $10,000 for second place; and $5,000 for third place. The top winners are selected by ING’s Educators Advisory Board, consisting of six distinguished educators from across the United States

National Council of Teachers of Mathematics School In-Service Training Grants 9-12 Teachers
The purpose of this grant is to provide financial assistance to secondary schools for in-service education in mathematics. For 2013–2014, grants of a maximum of $4,000 each will be awarded to secondary schools. Costs may include honoraria and expenses for consultants, materials, substitute time, and conference or workshop registrations. No funds may be used for staff travel or equipment. Proposals must address the following: need, mathematics content, scope of the plan, other contributing sources of funding, number of teachers and students impacted, distribution of costs, urban-rural isolation, and multiethnic student body.
Only schools with at least one current (as of April 26, 2013) Full Individual or E-Members of NCTM are eligible to apply for this grant. No school may receive more than one award administered by the Mathematics Education Trust in the same academic year. Past recipients of this grant are not eligible to reapply. Activities are to be completed between September 1, 2013, and August 31, 2014.

San Antonio Water System Environmental Education and Awareness Mini-Grants
To assist area schools, neighborhood organizations, and other civic groups within the SAWS service area to educate PK through 12 grade children on topics of:
• Water Quality
• Water Conservation
• Environmental Awareness
• Pollution Prevention
Mini-Grant funds can be used for transportation reimbursement, admission costs and workshop costs up to $500. Any school within the SAWS service area is welcome to apply for a Mini-Grant. Approved field-trip destinations include:
• The Witte Museum
• San Antonio Botanical Gardens
• Mitchell Lake Audubon Center
• Medina River Natural Area
• San Antonio Children's Museum
• San Antonio Water System Wastewater Treatment Center (sixth grade and up)

ALSC/Candlewick Press “Light the Way: Outreach to the Underserved” Grant
The grant was formed in honor of Newberry Medalist and Geisel Honoree author Kate DiCamillo, and the themes represented in her books. The award consists of a $3,000 grant to assist a library conducting exemplary outreach to underserved populations through a new program or an expansion of work already being done. Special population children may include those who have learning or physical differences, those who are speaking English as a second language, those who are in a non-traditional school environment, those are in non-traditional family settings (such as teen parents, foster children, children in juvenile justice system, and children in gay and lesbian families), and those who need accommodation service to meet their needs. Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries
The Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries is a component fund of the Community for the National Capital Region in Washington DC. Grants from the Laura Bush Foundation will be made to school libraries across the country to purchase books. The current grant cycle is now closed. School Garden Grant Program
The School Garden Grant Program is a collaboration between Whole Kids Foundation, Whole Foods Market and FoodCorps. The grant programs offers grants of $2,000 to support school garden projects in the US, UK and Canada.
To be eligible for a garden grant, applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or nonprofit K-12 school that is developing or currently maintain a school garden project that will help children engage with fresh fruits and vegetables. Garden projects may be at any stage of development; planning, construction or operation.

Entomological Society of America President’s Prizes for Outstanding Achievement in Primary and Secondary Education
These awards recognize educators who have gone beyond the traditional teaching methods by using insects as educational tools. One winner will be chosen from among primary teachers (grades K-6) and one from among secondary teachers (grades 7-12). The recipients will receive:
· A $400 donation made payable to the winner’s school to purchase teaching materials required to expand the use of insects in the teaching curriculum.
· A $400 award paid directly to the winner for expenses associated with travel required to present a paper or poster on the use of insects in primary or secondary educational programs at a peer professional venue of their choosing.
· Gratis registration to attend ESA’s Annual meeting.
· An $800 award paid directly to the winner for expenses associated with travel, hotel arrangements, and all other costs associated with attending the ESA Annual Meeting.

Target Foundation Early Childhood Reading Grants
The Target Foundation Early Childhood Reading Grants are awarded to schools, libraries, and nonprofit organizations to support programs such as after-school reading events and weekend book clubs. Awards are given in the amount of $2,000. Applications are accepted between March 1 and April 30 of every year. The Lois Lenski Covey Foundation Library Grant Program
The Lois Lenski Covey Foundation, Inc. annually awards grants for purchasing books published for young people preschool through grade 8. Public libraries, school libraries, and non-traditional libraries operated by 501(c)(3) agencies are eligible. The Foundation provides grants to libraries or organizations that serve economically or socially at-risk children, have limited book budgets, and demonstrate real need. Grants will range from $500 to $3000 and are specifically for book purchases, and cannot be used for administrative or operational uses.

American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Shade Structure Program
The American Academy of Dermatology's shade structure program awards grants in the amount of $8,000 each for the purchase of permanent shade structures designed to provide shade and ultraviolet (UV) ray protection for outdoor areas. The AAD also provides a permanent sign to be displayed near the shade structure that promotes the importance of sun safety. The AAD receives support for this program from Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Co.
To be considered for future grants, applicants must:
· Be a nonprofit organization or public school that primarily serves children and teens who are 18 and younger.
· Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to sun safety and skin cancer awareness by having a sun safety/skin cancer awareness program in place for at least one year prior to application.
· Be sponsored by an AAD member dermatologist. Locate an AAD member dermatologist by using the Find a Dermatologist tool.

Dollar General Summer Reading Grants
The Dollar General Literacy Foundation Summer Reading Grants provide funding to local nonprofit organizations and libraries to help with the implementation or expansion of summer reading programs. Programs must target Pre-K through 12th grade students who are new readers, below grade level readers with learning disabilities. Applications for the next cycle will be available in January 2013. Ezra Jack Keats Minigrant
The Ezra Jack Keats Foundation created a funding initiative called Minigrants, through which $500 are given to public schools and public libraries for projects that foster creative expression, working together and interaction with a diverse community. They also represent an opportunity for educators, who efforts are often inadequately funded or recognized, to create special activities outside the standard curriculum and make time to encourage their students. HEB Fund for Teacher Excellence
The H-E-B Fund for Teacher Excellence is designed to encourage classroom enrichment through continuing teacher education in Bexar County. Educators planning to pursue a Master’s degree, to attend a teacher workshop, or to participate in an AP conference, may apply for individual or team grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000.
– All applicants must teach at a school within the 17 public school districts located in Bexar County, Texas.
– All applicants must have taught for at least three years, and must be at least three years away from retirement.
– All applicants must be full time teachers in grades K-12.
– Team Teachers are eligible to apply with the understanding that all grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 will be divided equally.

Firstmark Credit Union Educator Award
Firstmark Credit Union will award ten $500 awards to area educators in December 2012. All winners may use their award money to purchase teaching materials or to finance projects or activities that will benefit their classrooms and students. All applicants must meet the following criteria:
– Eligibility is limited to full-time educators, in grades K through 12, within Bexar County and/or any of the 12 surrounding counties.
– All applicants must be members of Firstmark Credit Union
– All applicants must submit a complete scholarship application form, along with all the following materials:
• A double-spaced, typed, one-page essay identifying the different types of teaching methods that are currently used in the classroom.
• Examples of any past projects/activities similar to the proposed projects/activities that will be financed using this scholarship money. Pictures, videos, project materials etc. will be accepted and will be returned if requested.
• A letter of recommendation from your school administration (principal or vice principal).

DonorsChoose.org is an online charity that makes it easy for anyone to help students in need. Target Arts Grant
Target offers grants to schools and nonprofits that bring arts and cultural experiences directly to K-12 students. These programs must have a curriculum component. Target funds in school arts programs that enhance student's classroom curriculum by bringing the arts and cultural experiences to schools, such as in-school performances, artist in residency programs and workshops in schools. Art and Culture in Schools grants are $2,000. Grant applications are typically accepted between March 1 and April 30 each year, with grant notifications delivered in September. Toshiba America Foundation
Toshiba America Foundation (TAF) grants fund the projects ideas and materials teachers need to innovate in their math and science classrooms. TAF is interested in funding projects designed by teachers or small teams of teachers for use in their own schools. Toshiba America Foundation grants support public and nonprofit private schools throughout the United States. The TAF currently has two grant categories, Grades K-5 and Grades 6-12. Grade K-5 applications are due yearly by October 1st. Grade 6-12 applications for $5,000 or less are accepted on a rolling basis, throughout the calendar year. Grant requests of more than $5,000 are reviewed twice a year. Applications for grants of more than $5,000 are due February 1st and August 1st each year. Dollar General Youth Literacy Grants

Pioneer Drama Service Touching Lives Through Theatre Grants
Pioneer Drama Service is rewarding $5000 of grants in the form of Pioneer Drama credit to qualifying middle and high schools. Their goal with these grants is to create and support school theatre programs, generating positive opportunities for students and giving them a place to shine. Each grant is intended to help create a complete drama experience for students in a school and must be used to stage at least one theatrical production. Grants will range from $100 to $500 credit at Pioneer Drama Service, which is to be used for production materials, royalty fees, texts, DVDs and makeup.

PTO Parent Group of the Year
PTO Today’s Parent Group of the year search is open to all elementary and middle school (K-8) parent groups: PTO, PTA, HAS, PTC, etc. Ten winners will be chosen, one in each of eight individual categories plus a national winner and judges’ choice winner.

McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation Teacher Development Grants
The McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation believes that continuous, insightful and innovative professional training and growth is crucial to the effectiveness of educators. It is the Foundation’s goal to promote best practices through cooperative and sustained commitment to increased efficacy, improved teaching and active learning. As such, the Foundation values proposals aimed at concurrently boosting student understanding and proficiency and instilling a passion for lifelong learning.
The Teacher Development Grants provide funding to individuals or small teams of teachers in the formation and implementation of groundbreaking k-12 classroom instruction. The grants provide opportunities for teachers to integrate fresh strategies that encourage critical inquiry and to observe their effects on students. Teachers have the opportunity to reflect and write about their projects, as well as to share their results with other teachers. The Foundation awards grants to individuals in amounts up to $10,000 per year for a maximum of three years provided the eligibility requirements continue to be met.
