Students enjoyed building a zip line, writing goals in a journal, thinking critically about how machines are used to solve real world medical problems, and were challenged to adopt a local grandparent. Students thought about how machines are used to treat Alzheimer's disease, arthritis, and high blood pressure. A Dublin Alumni, Kesslea Johnson, shared with Dublin Junior High robotic students about how machines are used in nursing homes and in the medical industry. Kesslea is a nursing student at Tarleton and DHS graduate. A registration form is in the drop box for other districts who are interested in learning more, sharing or collaborating on First Lego League challenges. Much of the content was a direct result of professional development that teachers participated in across the nation in the Summer of 2012. Teachers attending the CSCOPE conference, Denton's Technology Integration Academy, ISTE in San Diego, STEAM camp, TCEA in Galveston, and parent involvement.
